Hello everyone. My name is Aifric Nic Niallais, and I’m a final year student of the BA in World Languages here in UCC. For one of my final year modules I was required to create a blog where all things Language and Information Technology was to be discussed. I took advantage of this assigment to delve into topics that I have special interest in, ranging from the case of minority language technological resources to historical linguistics. As a native speaker of Irish Gaeilge hailing from the North-West Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair, my love and passion for my native tongue has given me motivation to examine the role of technology in the future of endangered languages.
